Such a valuable and cool blog, John! I work with 10-13 year old dyslexic students - do you have any favorite gamebooks that come to mind that are relatively accessible for students around that age? It would need to be relatively simple as they'd be new to the genre. Thanks so much!

There are a lot of other gamebook reviewers and players out there more qualified to make such a recommendation than I, but if it's dice rolling and/or Fighting Fantasy you are interested in, I might suggest "Vault of the Vampire" for that age range, as it's not TOO difficult and has many things I would have loved at that age.
DeleteA good basic starter fantasy adventure might be "Forest of Doom" from Fighting Fantasy, or even "Flight from the Dark" from Lone Wolf. They didn't get the highest scores from me, but I think they would be good introductions due to them being more simple than some others.
I won't suggest my favourite gamebook so far, "Creature of Havoc", because for a beginner that would be cruel! Good luck!
